We are a specialist asset manager based in South Africa, with an offshore and rand-hedge focus. Our Funds cater to a wide range of investors and their financial objectives.
High Street was founded by Michael Patchitt in 2011. His intention was to leverage his experience gained since entering the investment industry in 1987 by managing Funds of his own together with those of his friends and colleagues. The business has since grown into a reputable asset manager backed by a team of qualified investment professionals. Consistent performance has resulted in Fund inflows from a diversified client base.
We are an offshore orientated asset manager that provide unique services to meet the shifting demands of investors in a globalised world. To this end we have created three specialised Funds which cater to a range of investor objectives. The global equity Fund appeals to those seeking to grow their wealth by investing in technological innovation, and our two balanced Funds aim to enhance investor wealth through prudent asset allocation. Our clients have direct access to the Fund managers for personalised advice on all investment matters.

Mike Patchitt (B. Comm)
Has had a career in financial markets and asset management for more than 30 years, originally joining UAL Merchant Bank as a fixed income portfolio manager before becoming a member of the Bond Trading Division. Following a role at Sechold, he started Coronation Securities for Coronation Ltd which became African Harvest Securities and thereafter joined Coronation Investment Trust as joint head of the Trading Division, trading listed securities both locally and offshore.
Ross Beckley, CFA (B. Comm Hons, Finance)
Began his finance career with Centaur Asset management in 2011 having completed his bachelor of commerce (honours) degree specializing in finance. He joined High Street later that year as a junior portfolio manager gaining experience, both locally and internationally, across a range of product offerings. He has since gained the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter and is the senior Fund manager on the High Street South African balanced Fund.
Andrew Roy (CA (SA))
Andrew Roy, better known as Tubby, had 10 years in financial markets with Inet, UAL Securities and Coronation Securities before moving into general commerce in 2003. He joined High Street when it was established in 2011, and serves as Non-Executive Director.
Murray Stewart (B. Comm, LLB)
Joined UAL Asset Management in 1993 before moving to London with Deutsche Morgan Grenfell/Ivor Jones, Roy in equity sales, marketing South African equities to international institutions. Returned to South Africa with Deutsche Bank in 2001 as head of Equity Capital Markets. Most recent role was as head of investment banking for Bank of America Merrill Lynch (South Africa), providing advisory and capital market advice to local and international clients
Charlie de La Pasture (B.A. Classics Hons)
Joined High Street in 2019 as a research analyst after graduating from Bristol University in the UK. He started pursuing the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter in December 2018, and after consecutively passing Levels 1 and 2 he has registered to write the Level 3 examination later this year.
Jo-Ann van der Merwe
Joined High Street in 2019 as office manager/client relations. Prior to this she was a credit manager/controller and decided to pursue a more client orientated role. She completed her Diploma in Public Relations in 2002, thereafter achieving further certificates in 2009 and 2010 with the most recent being in Credit Management (CM3), which is ICM endorsed.
Ross Yammin (B. Comm Hons, Economics)
Joined High Street at the beginning of 2020 as a research analyst after graduating from the University of Cape Town. He is studying for the Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) Charter and is registered to write the Level 2 examination later this year.
